Full and part rewires, planned with you and left tidy

Full & Partial House Rewires

Old fuses you can rewire yourself? Cables coated in rubber or fabric? Then your home is likely due a rewire. It is the biggest electrical job a house will ever need, so we plan it with you. We walk round each room first and agree where every socket, switch and light should go.

A lot of homes in Crawley were built in the 1950s and 60s. Many still have the old wiring, with bits added over the years by different people. We put dust sheets down, cut into walls cleanly and make good as we go. When we finish, the whole house is tested and certified.

Rewires questions, answered

How much does a full rewire cost?

Most full rewires of a three-bed house around Crawley and Horsham land between £4,000 and £7,500. The size of the house, the number of circuits and how much making good you want all move the price. We look at the property first, then give you one fixed price in writing before any work starts, so nothing grows on the bill.

How long does a full rewire take?

About one to two weeks for a typical three-bed home. It depends on the size of the house and whether you are living in it. You get a clear plan for each day before we start.

Can we live in the house during a rewire?

Usually, yes. We work room by room and keep the power on at night where we can. On bigger jobs it can be quicker with the house empty. We will tell you honestly which suits yours.

How do I know if my home needs rewiring?

Signs to look for: old fuses you can rewire, rubber or fabric cables, warm or loose sockets and too few sockets. An electrical safety check (EICR) tells you for sure. We never push a rewire you do not need.
